12/27/2018 3 Comments Why I sew![]() Everyone has a personal style. Leggings or denim, heels or flats? I personally believe we need to feel comfortable in our own skin. I have been sewing off and on again for many years. I changed my personal style about 6 or 7 years ago. I wanted to wear things that made me happy and feel good, rather than feel like a regular mom. I also discovered that the style of clothing I wanted to wear (pinup/ vintage inspired with a splash of rockabilly) was pricey in the stores and online. My husband asked me why I didn't simply sew my own stuff. Talk about a "duh" moment. I went to the nearest fabric store and grabbed a few patterns and a cart full of fabric. I started with skirts because, well, they're pretty simple. I was soon sewing my own tops and bottoms. I had always only sewn for my kids and home dec stuff. I never thought about sewing for myself. #momming #momlife Let me tell you, it's an amazing feeling when I walk out wearing something I've made. Sometimes things don't turn out, but when they do, It's the greatest feeling! Oh and I still wear most of the things that don't turn out. Stay tuned to see what we'll be learning next. AuthorHi there, I'm Annette and I love eating and sewing. I usually have a cup of coffee or tea with me, but not next to my machine because I'd probably spill it. I am the reason we can't have nice things. Archives
